Mr. Bakhtawar singh (‘SHIKSHA BHARATI PURASKAR’)

Mr.Bakhtawar Singh, who hails from village Dohlron, district Hoshiarpur, is the son of late Captain Kulwaran Singh and the grandson of late S. Kehar Singh.
An enterprising person, with vast experience and many achievements in the fields of management, entrepreneurship and philanthropy, he has always set new benchmarks. He is a visiting faculty to many institutions and organizations, facilitating various leadership and management training and development programs.

A visionary, Mr.Bakhtawar, in 2007 founded ‘CARE FOUNDATION’, an organization that works in the fields of ‘Education’, ‘Health care’ and ‘Income Generation’ projects for the needy. An eminent educationist, he is a firm believer that ‘Education Is Empowerment’ and is crusading to establish 10 new schools in and around Pune in 3yrs time. Infact, his contribution and commitment towards promoting the cause of education has won him the National Award ‘SHIKSHA BHARATI PURASKAR’, from AIAF, New Delhi.
A person who views every change as an opportunity, he is on the advisory boards of many National as well as International organizations such as ZEST4KIDS, IRELAND; INTERSERVE INDIA, CROSSBOW FOUNDATION, INDIA and AKHIL GUJARATI RAJASTHANI LOK SANGEET SANSKRITIK PRATISHTHAN, PUNE.
At present, he lives in Pune with his wife Harbinder and two children Poonam and Pranay.

Interview with Gagan Luddu (Vancouver police) published in Indo-Candian Voice (saturday March 8, 2008 )
Gagan Luddu was born in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur district in a village named “Dohlron”. She immigrated to Canada with her parents and two of her sisters in 1996 after completing her Grade 10 in India.
Luddu told The VOICE she always wanted to be in policing, but wouldn’t have pursued it in India because of the negative male-dominated image it has there. However, here in Canada, she was attracted to the style of policing because she found females being given the same consideration as males.
